Duties
- Reupholster furniture by removing old fabric, inspecting underlying structures, and applying new upholstery materials with precision.
- Interpret blueprint specifications and technical drawings to guide the repair or manufacturing process.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and sewing techniques to cut fabric materials accurately and assemble furniture components.
- Repair upholstery damage by replacing worn fabric, padding, or leather surfaces while maintaining original design integrity.
- Perform manual handling and heavy lifting safely when moving or assembling large furniture pieces.
- Interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions to ensure accurate assembly and upholstery work.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the repair process to ensure finished furniture meets safety standards and aesthetic expectations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in upholstery, woodworking, or furniture repair with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in upholstery techniques including reupholstering leather and fabric materials.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and manual cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of fabric materials, leather care, blueprint interpretation, and technical drawing analysis.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with auto restoration or manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Strong understanding of upholstery maintenance, repairing techniques, and assembly procedures.
- Excellent manual dexterity combined with a keen eye for detail ensures high-quality craftsmanship.
