Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Technician / Receiving Supervisor to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of electronics and a solid mechanical knowledge as well as experience with various maintenance tasks, utilizing hand tools and equipment repair techniques. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment, as well as maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. This individual will also be responsible for supervising the Receiving Technicians. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, mechanical knowledge, and supervisory experience.
Duties
- Supervise soil receiving and soil preparation technicians.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility equipment.
- Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues.
- Repair and maintain mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Operate hand tools effectively for various repair tasks.
- Carpentry and maintenance of furniture and fixtures through-out the laboratory, receiving and office areas.
- Document all maintenance activities and report any significant findings or repairs required.
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure all facilities meet safety standards.
Experience
- Experience as a service technician or in a similar role within facilities maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate.
