Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Concrete Finisher, Form Setter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating durable, precise concrete structures by setting forms and finishing concrete surfaces with expert craftsmanship. Your expertise in blueprint reading, form construction, and concrete finishing will ensure the successful completion of various construction projects, including residential, and renovation sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects while honing your skills in concrete work and construction safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately set up formwork and execute concrete finishing tasks
- Construct and install formwork using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment to shape concrete structures according to specifications
- Prepare the site by performing heavy lifting, rebar installation, and ensuring proper placement of reinforcement materials for stability and durability
- Pour, spread, level, and finish concrete surfaces with precision using trowels, floats, caulking tools, and other finishing tools
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, cutting tools, and other heavy equipment safely to facilitate efficient workflow
- Follow all safety regulations related to construction workplace safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment
- Collaborate with team members on site to execute tasks such as masonry work, plastering, stucco application, flooring installation, tile laying, and restoration projects as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete forming and finishing techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and schematics interpretation
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings for formwork construction and concrete placement
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent safety protocols
- Skills in rebar installation, concrete cutting, caulking, framing carpentry (including trim carpentry), masonry work, and heavy lifting are highly desirable
- Experience with renovation projects or restoration work involving concrete surfaces is a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively on busy job sites
