Job Description Summary
Works under general supervision and direction of the Director of Government Affairs/Public Relations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other Duties May Be Assigned)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualification Requirements
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Minimum two years post secondary education; associate or baccalaureate degree preferred. Minimum of five years office experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Works under general supervision and direction of the Director of Government Affairs/Public Relations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other Duties May Be Assigned)
- Screen phone calls, delineate and forward to Director or other staff as necessary.
- Regularly update Director on daily calls or immediately contact on time sensitive issues.
- Maintain and coordinate calendar for department and ACBCI meetings and events.
- Arrange and coordinate travel for department staff. Develop and maintain department filing systems.
- Draft and prepare correspondence, as needed.
- Review and process department mail.
- Compile and copy departmental agenda and associated material for Tribal Council meetings.
- Work closely with other ACBCI staff on administrative tasks.
- Occasionally interact with public elected officials and their representatives.
- Assist with monitoring key activities of tribal, federal, state and local governments.
- Assist in other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualification Requirements
- Type a minimum 50 words per minute
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
- Working familiarity with PowerPoint and Microsoft Project
- Strong English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation skills
- Excellent organizational ability and sensitivity with confidential information
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
- Basic mathematical principles
- Principles and procedures of filing
- Ability to meet schedules and timelines.
