POSITION SUMMARY
The Environmental Specialist supports Agtegra Cooperative’s compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. This role assists in regulatory submissions, maintains documentation, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure operational alignment with environmental requirements.
While this position is currently listed as Environmental Specialist, we are open to considering highly qualified candidates for a more senior-level role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in preparing and submitting environmental permits and licenses.
- Monitor and interpret applicable environmental regulations.
- Support internal teams in integrating compliance into daily operations.
- Maintain accurate and timely compliance records.
- Participate in inspections and respond to agency requests under supervision.
- Identify potential environmental risks and escalate concerns.
- Contribute to process improvements and documentation updates.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field and 1-3 years related experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in environmental compliance, agriculture operations, or EHS.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- English Proficiency.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Familiarity with regulatory software (e.g., Tier II, CDX).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to day travel as needed, up to 40%.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification preferred.
- Professional certifications (e.g., OHST, CHMM) are a plus.
- Experience in agricultural or cooperative operations.
