POSITION SUMMARY  

The C-Store Clerk provides friendly, efficient customer service and supports store operations by assisting customers, processing transactions, stocking shelves, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the store. This position is part-time and requires flexibility with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES   

• Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, provide assistance as needed, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Cash Handling: Operate the cash register accurately, process customer purchases, manage payments, and handle cash and credit transactions.
• Stocking: Replenish shelves, coolers, and displays, ensuring that products are neatly arranged, properly labeled, and within the store’s merchandising standards.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the store clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing high-touch areas, as well as maintaining restroom cleanliness.
• Inventory: Monitor stock levels, identify shortages, and report low inventory items to the manager for reordering.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety and health protocols, including proper handling of food and beverages, and ensure compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations.
• Loss Prevention: Maintain awareness of suspicious behavior, report theft or damage, and follow store security policies.
• Fueling Area Support: (If applicable) Clean and maintain fuel pumps and surrounding areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Diploma/GED or 0-1 year related experience; or combination of education and experience. 
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. 
• Must be 18 years or older.
• English proficiency. 
• Prior retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and counting cash.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation. 
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator. 
• Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above) 
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
