AGT Foods, one of the world's leading suppliers of value-added pulses, staple foods and food ingredients, has significantly expanded its downstream processing capabilities in recent years through the addition of multiple extrusion facilities in both Canada and the USA. These facilities develop and manufacture finished and semi-finished products, including allergen-free pasta, snacks, meat alternatives, and other innovative food solutions.
We have an immediate need for a Commercial Sales Specialist - Extrusion Sales. While this position will be "assigned" to Bismarck, ND, it is a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage assigned existing accounts including regular customer communication, account planning, retention and expansion opportunities.
- Prospect and develop new customers within the assigned market/application segment in alignment with category priorities.
- Conduct customer meetings, discovery conversations and routine product/application discussions as capability develops.
- Qualify opportunities and maintain clear next steps, timing, probability and commerical value in CRM.
- Coordinate quotations, samples, trials and commercialization activities, ensuring the customer and internal teams understand requirements and timelines.
- Prepare routine pricing/quote recommendations and operate within established pricing guardrails, escalate material exceptions.
- Collect customer forecast information and communicate material demand changes, risks and opportunities.
- Serve as the commercial owner throughout the order cycle while relying on the appropriate functional team to execute its responsibilities.
- Gather market, competitor and customer intelligence and identify growth ideas for discussion with the Category Sales Manager.
-Participate in customer visits, trade shows and industry activities as required.
- Maintain strong CRM, reporting and follow-up discipline.
- Continuously build product, application, commerical and selling capability.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
-Degree in Commerce/Business, Administration or Agriculture
-Demonstrated sales planning, forecasting, and sales execution experience (minimum of 3 years)
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry and customers brands, platforms and strategies to be able to provide innovative customer-focused ideas
- Manage and prioritize a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office products
- Strong communication skills
- Language skills are a benefit
- Ability to work independently and remotely in a home office
- Must be able to travel 25% or more
