AGRONOMY SALES ASSOCIATE

With this position, you will be introduced to all aspects of our agronomy business including but not limited to grower interaction, precision ag, and the culture within AgState. You will be trained in multiple aspects of what it takes to be a best-in-class sales agronomist. You must be open to multiple training sites with permanent placement being anywhere within AgState’s market footprint.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate work habits that develop, build, and support the team concept with AgState.
- Display an attitude that is focused on improving salesmanship, serving customers, teammates, and self.
- Employ good territory management skills to schedule time with growers and maximize productivity in the field.
- Continually learn about all agronomic products, precision agriculture, and general services available from AgState, and the cultural and environmental challenges in our trade area.
- Attain knowledge of agronomic sales activities that occur over a full sales year within the sales group.
- Obtain working knowledge of machinery uses in Ag retail (sprayers, terra-gators, etc.) to further enhance knowledge of production agriculture.
- Complete all paperwork (work orders, invoices, field maps, etc.) in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction, company efficiency, and minimize stress on teammates and self.
- Give assistance with operation tasks such as agronomy product deliveries, loading products, seed treating, etc.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural studies and/or one to two years of related experience.
- Additional coursework for certification is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- CCA (certified crop advisor) are preferred but not required.
- Hazmat is required.
