About Our Client
Our client is a well-established contractor specializing in the construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout Ohio. With a strong backlog of municipal and utility-funded work, they are expanding their project management team and seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of complex, high-impact projects.
Role Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will work closely with senior project staff to coordinate all phases of construction, including scheduling, cost control, field operations, subcontractor management, and client relations. This position offers excellent career growth potential into a Project Manager role and provides a hands-on opportunity to contribute to vital environmental infrastructure work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in the planning and execution of water/wastewater treatment plant construction projects.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met.
- Manage documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and daily reports.
- Assist with project scheduling, procurement tracking, and cost control.
- Conduct site visits and support construction oversight and compliance monitoring.
- Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant construction experience (preferably water/wastewater or heavy civil).
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Understanding of state/federal regulations and safety practices related to public infrastructure.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and interpersonal communication.
- Willingness to travel to job sites across Ohio.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on wastewater treatment plant or pipeline projects.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
- EIT certification or on path to PE license.
