Description Location: St. Johns, MI
This intern position offers practical applications of Accounting as it pertains to corporate financial accounting functions and the oversight of the financial accounting processes of the company. This includes: ensuring financial statements are completed timely and accurately in compliance with GAAP, and that our accounting records contain the information necessary to meet our reporting requirements to internal management, for tax compliance, and reporting of financial results to the Finance Director according to prescribed procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Program span of 15 weeks participating in accounting processes designed to create knowledge for future employment in the accounting industry.
Participate in projects and labor for the Accounting Team.
Exposure to various aspects of ag business accounting including but not limited to:
Learn in developing logistic costing process in Sage and related software applications.
Learn with gathering back-up support and preparing of Journal Entries
Learn with preparing and validating month end close schedules and analysis
Learn in performing account reconciliations
Learn in various system related projects, including but not limited to performing testing and documentation
Learn in Accounts Payable Entry
Learn in Accounts Receivable Invoicing and Receipts
Learn Statement of Cash Flow fundamentals
Create and update process flow documentations
Create a 30-minute presentation and poster project recapping the internship experience to an AgroLiquid group at the completion of the program.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and protocols at all times.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment for self and staff.
Assist with special site related projects as directed.
Additional duties as deemed necessary by management.
What we’re looking for:
Current enrollment in Bachelor's in Accounting, Business, Costing or Finance
Core level accounting courses completed
Good understanding of GAAP
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Self-starter with a strong desire to learn more about accounting principles and processes.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite of products and Outlook.
