Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA) has an opening for a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner. Under the direction of the Workers’ Compensation Manager, this position is responsible for managing and evaluating complex workers’ compensation claims from start to finish. You’ll investigate incidents, input and maintain claim data, assess liability, determine benefits eligibility, identify opportunities for subrogation or offsets, report indemnity claims to the Division of Workers’ Compensation, and authorize treatment in accordance with WC regulations. This role involves frequent communication with member municipalities, medical providers, legal counsel, internal teams and the Division of Workers’ Compensation, and includes preparing legal documents and necessary state filings, attending hearings, and evaluating claims for settlement. You’ll also report high loss frequencies to CIRSA’s Risk Control Department to help reduce future workplace injuries and losses.
