Job Title: Research Scientist
About the Position
This position is located within the Pacific West Area (PWA), Western Regional Research Center (WRRC) and will provide research support. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting research efforts related to novel molecular tools, immunoassay development, and evaluation of immunoassay performance in laboratory and field settings.
Responsibilities
- Support research efforts related to novel molecular tools and methodologies for immunoassay construction.
- Develop and optimize immunoassays for detection of disease-causing agents.
- Evaluate immunoassay performance in laboratory and field settings.
- Support efforts to characterize and deploy immunoassays for surveillance of disease-causing agents.
Requirements
A PhD in Biological Science or a related field is required. Knowledge of biochemistry, antibodies, and their application in immunoassays is desirable. The applicant must also meet the basic Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard's requirements for the scientific discipline necessary to perform the duties of the position.
