Position: Farm Application Operator

Pay: $19/hr. - $24/hr.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and calibrate application equipment (sprayers, spreaders, tender trucks, etc.) to apply fertilizer, nutrients, herbicides, insecticides, and other crop inputs.
  • Mix, load, and deliver crop input products (bulk and packaged) to application equipment safely and accurately.
  • Perform pre-application and post-application inspections: check nozzles, hoses, valves, filters, pressure, flow rates, and equipment condition.
  • Adjust application settings based on field conditions, prescription maps, crop stage, and agronomic guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of applications: product used, rates, field locations, weather conditions, calibration logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on application equipment; collaborate with mechanics for larger repairs.
  • Drive trucks (bulk and tender) as needed to transport product to fields, load/unload, and assist logistics operations.
  • Assist with inventory management of chemicals, fertilizers, supplies, and parts for application operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL (Class A or B) preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Applicator license or certification, preferred or willing to obtain.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and maintain application equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, travel to field sites, lift heavy items (e.g. up to 50–75 lbs), climb in/on equipment, and stand for long periods.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well with growers, agronomists, and team members.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced, seasonally intense environment.

Working Conditions & Schedule

  • Predominantly field work in rural locations throughout the service area, moving between fields.
  • Exposure to heat, sun, wind, dust, and other weather conditions.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for chemical handling and equipment operation.
  • Shift work and extended hours during key agronomic windows; may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
