SVP Banking Operations & Money Movement (onsite/hybrid)

Position Overview

As a key member of the Finance Operations team, you will be part of AgriBank's mission to support the people who feed the world. The Senior Vice President of Banking Operations & Money Movement leads the Finance Operations department. This role sets the strategic vision, enterprise leadership and operational excellence of AgriBank’s banking operations, payment infrastructures, and funds movement ecosystem. This role also establishes governance and provides direction for the design, modernization, and oversight of systems and processes that ensure secure, efficient, and compliant movement of funds across the bank, District, and system levels. In addition, the SVP of Banking Operations & Money Movement serves as an enterprise financial operations leader aligning strategy, technology, risk management, and operational execution to support organizational objectives.

Job Functions

Strategic Leadership

• Executive owner for the end-to-end money movement operating model across Finance Operations
• Develop and execute the long-term strategy for banking operations, payments, and money movement across AgriBank
• Advance modernization initiatives, including real-time payments, automation, and digital transformation
• Partner with executive leadership to align operational capabilities with enterprise goals and regulatory expectations
• Anticipate regulatory, industry, and market changes and proactively adjust strategy to mitigate risk and enable growth

Operational Excellence

• Oversee daily operations related to bank operations, payments, settlements, wire transfers, ACH, cash management, and treasury operations
• Ensure high availability, accuracy, and resiliency of all money movement and banking platforms
• Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and scalability across operational processes
• Establish enterprise-wide performance metrics, dashboards, and service-level expectations for banking and money movement operations
• Ensure capacity planning operations can scale with business growth and volume fluctuations
• Responsible for change management efforts during large-scale transformations

Risk, Compliance & Governance

• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., Federal Reserve, NACHA, Farm Credit Administration)
• Oversee operational risk management, including fraud prevention, business continuity, and vendor oversight
• Responsible for enterprise operational risk assessments and ensure remediation plans are executed effectively
• Serve as a key liaison with auditors, regulators, and external partners
• Provide executive-level reporting on operational risk trends to senior leadership and governance committees

Technology & Innovation

• Collaborate with Technology, Security, and Data teams to enhance systems supporting payments and banking operations
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to strengthen AgriBank’s operational capabilities
• Champion automation, analytics, and digital tools to improve efficiency and reduce risk
• Ensure technology roadmaps are aligned with operational resilience and regulatory expectations

Staff Leadership

• Primarily through subordinate managers, selects, develops, motivates and evaluates Finance Operations department team members
• Allocate and optimize enterprise resources to support strategic priorities and operational performance
• Oversee performance standards, metrics, and outcomes

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or a related field
• Master’s degree preferred
• 15 years of related experience
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
• Experience leading large-scale operational teams and transformation initiatives
• Experience in the Farm Credit System or mission-driven financial institutions preferred

Knowledge

• Expert knowledge in money movement systems (ACH, wire, RTP, FedNow, SWIFT, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of financial institution operations
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory frameworks and operation risk management

Skills

• Advanced proficiency in office software Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

The typical base range for this role is between $245,000 - $402,000. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
