Agri-Valley Communications, Inc. (AVCI) is the parent company of Pigeon Telephone, Thumb Cellular, Agri-Valley Services and the AVS Tech Team. Headquartered in Pigeon, Michigan, our family-owned corporation is focused on providing communication and technology services to rural Michigan communities, including those in the Thumb and Northern regions of the state.
Are you a tech support professional looking for an opportunity with one of the Thumb area's top employers? If so, AVCI has a current opening for a Tier Two Support Technician in Pigeon, MI. This position provides second level support for our AVS Broadband Customer Service Representatives, Customers, and Installation Technicians.
Normal hours of this position are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Compensation and our exceptional benefit package will be discussed during the initial interview. - Assists AVS Customer Service Representatives and customers by diagnosing problems and providing resolutions for service-related issues.
- Advises and educates customers through a combination of experience and documentation, to ensure a solution.
- Escalates trouble tickets to the next level for service calls.
- Assists AVS Field Technicians by activating/provisioning subscriber accounts.
- Works with vendors to provision and test new equipment on company network.
- Performs remote Firmware updates and device provisioning.
- Collaborates with Tier 3 to troubleshoot and diagnose network issues

- High School or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
- 2 years of related experience in customer service, project management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with high levels of accuracy with minimal supervision.
- Intro level Networking knowledge required.
- Ability to perform job duties in a professional and respectful manner when working with customers and co-workers.
