Front Counter Sales Associate
The Front Counter Sales Associate serves customers by helping them select products. Drives sales through the engagement of customers, suggestive upselling, and sharing product knowledge. Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner.

- Greet every customer upon entering the store and offer assistance.
- Perform opening duties of the front counter including but not limited to starting computers, tidying any mess left on the front counter, wiping down the front counter including cleaning glass displays.
- Any merchandise left upfront from the previous day should be returned to the sales floor in the appropriate place.
- Serve as, or assist, the switchboard operator with incoming store calls and transfer calls to the corresponding departments.
- Answer any questions directly from customers (via telephone, or in person) for pricing, product availability, pre-sold orders, material returns, cancellations, etc.
- Research items and product information for customers in our digital catalog for customers and emphasize selling points such as quality and utility.
- Prepare sales tickets, write up special orders for customers, and follow through on special orders.
- May train and assist new employees in the department.
- You may be asked to help a customer lift a heavy or awkwardly shaped item. Assist customers with placing items in their shopping carts or assist them in loading their vehicles after check out if asked.
- Assist with bagging and tagging as needed.
- Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times
- Pass along information for new stock items to the managers. Inform managers of any quality control problems with stock.
- Engage in appropriate behavior at all times, representing the business in a positive light
- Any and all other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- 3-6 months of previous retail experience preferred.
- Friendly and outgoing demeanor.
- Proficient with computers.
- Must be able to learn and retain vast amounts of product information.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Additional Notes
This position reports directly to the store manager but will receive instruction from leads, the training coordinator, and other store management.
The environment of this position is a retail warehouse, there will be dust and dirt due to the products we sell.
