Job Overview
Directly responsible for overseeing and organizing the equipment, staff, and processes on production floor. Ensure all health and safety and production standards are applied to ensure a safe work environment. This role establishes and manages performance standards, procedures to meet business requirements and examines product to ensure quality standards are met and maintained. Focus on supporting and increasing efficiencies, effectiveness, and quality of company operations.
Responsibilities
Operation
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment or machinery
- Confirm production team has access to all relevant raw materials and equipment – ensure the smooth running of production
- Minimize production downtime
- Ensure all safety equipment is being used at all times
- Assign production tasks to team members taking account of production needs and individual capabilities
- Maintain production output while still maintaining staff safety and product quality
- Conduct product quality checks and resolve QC issues
- Encourage the production of quality goods
- Ensure proper operation of molds/machines
- Adjust process parameters to resolve quality/productivity issues
- Coordinate with other shifts to ensure smooth transitions and consistent operations
- Perform Mold changes as required
- Ensure Shipping is performing their duties as per company practices
Employee Relations
- Take daily employee attendance
- Promote safety in the workplace and take appropriate action when safety is at risk
- Train new employees
- Support employees to learn more to better themselves
- Assist with completing and reporting workplace accidents
- Conduct disciplinary review and participate in performance reviews
Quality Control
- Directly inspect products to ensure quality standards are met and maintained – including but not limited to any defects or deformity such as holes, surface imperfections, warping, or uneven wall formation
- Identify relevant training needs to maintain quality assurance standards
- Drive consistency and compliance across all product lines
- Motivate team to deliver consistent and high-quality products
- Develop and coach operators, ensure they are equipped with proper tools and resources to perform their job duties
Skills
- Grade 12 Diploma
- WHMIS training an asset
- Red Cross training an asset
- Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing/warehousing environment
- Forklift/powered lift equipment experience
- Proven experience as a leader or similar role
- Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools
- Time and priority management
- Balance a heavy workload and time constraints
- Excellent communication skills and conflict resolution
- Strong attention-to-detail
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Positive attitude
- Organizational Skills
Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
