Cheddar Room Lead

Position Summary:
At Cabot Creamery Cooperative, we take pride in producing high-quality dairy products while supporting our farmers, employees, and communities. The Cheddar Room Lead plays a key role in overseeing daily cheddar production operations, ensuring product quality, food safety, and team engagement. This position supports production goals while fostering a safe, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day operations in the cheddar room, ensuring production runs efficiently and safely
• Promote and enforce Cabot’s commitment to quality, food safety, and sanitation standards (GMPs, HACCP)
• Monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime
• Train, coach, and support team members to build skills and maintain performance expectations
• Serve as a point of communication between production staff and leadership
• Ensure accurate documentation of production, quality checks, and any deviations
• Support continuous improvement efforts and operational excellence initiatives
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food manufacturing or dairy production preferred
• Prior leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of food safety and quality standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and make sound decisions
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
• Comfortable working in a production environment with temperature changes and moisture

Starting Rate: 28.21 per hour
