This position reports up through our maintenance team and is responsible for our machine clean-outs. This can be a particularly messy process, and uniforms will be provided for you. Training for this position will be conducted during 1st shift, and you will then be moved to 2nd shift.
General Statement of Responsibilities
Performs general production duties in a J.I.T. manufacturing system, e.g. – Employee Involvement, Total Quality, Continuous Improvement, Housekeeping, Elimination of Waste, Communication, Coordination, etc. that meets production and customer requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assist Maintenance department in daily preventative measures.
2. Performs machine cleanouts on all plant production equipment.
3. Maintains water tanks and ensures proper oil inventory at machines.
4. Removal of plant scrap, chip hoppers and slug hoppers.
5. Assists in maintaining plant washing equipment (includes adding chemical additives)
6. Cleaning of facility, including rest rooms.
7. Facility grounds keeping, including lawn maintenance.
8. Performs hazardous waste removal.
9. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
10. Ability to follow and understand written and verbal instructions.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
May be used for any assignments:
1. Dumping of parts and bin removal
2. Support of manufacturing operations (i.e., tool washing, inventory control)
3. Removal and disposal of trash.
4. General plant housekeeping
5. Training other employees.
6. Perform 5S activities.
7. Operation of mobile equipment
8. Minor periodic maintenance and lubrication
Physical Requirements
1. Able to reach above shoulder, bend, kneel and stoop.
2. Able to wear personal protective equipment in areas where applicable and/or dictated by task.
3. Able to use mobile equipment devices.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, push, pull, climb, stoop, and kneel. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25-50 pounds and occasionally lift and move over 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
