What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer position at AGR, LLC?
Advanced Global Resources (AGR) has a unique opportunity for an APQP Engineer supporting a customer on site in Tallassee, Alabama for a 4-6 month contract. Terms of employment can be 1099 contractor of W2 depending on preference. Temporary accomodations can also be negotiated in terms of employment. Key Accountabilities:
- Perform APQP process in-order to identify risk and mitigating risk using tools such as PFD, PFMEA and CP
- Collaborate with stakeholders - Present recommendation for risk mitigation
- Track the recommendations from inception till the implementation and their results
- Participates in design and product reviews to ensure that producibility, inspect ability, reliability, safety, Quality System integrity, and business process management objectives are met
- Performs such research as benchmarking to industry standards; analyzes and compiles performance reports and process control statistics to determine and improve process capability or product quality
- Recommends and supports the implementation of corrective actions that are necessary to reduce or eliminate nonconformance to design specifications
- Interfaces with company employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements
- Develops and uses statistical methodologies to ensure that specified levels of safety, reliability, and process capability are achieved, maintained, or improved
- Ensure that suppliers manufacturing, quality system, special processes, and products meet purchase contract requirements, customer requirements and applicable regulatory agency and government regulations.
- Ensures that suppliers document and maintain an approved Quality System to meet the appropriate company or customer requirements
- Create Control Plans for suppliers and work to keep them on track.
Requirements:
- 5 years of related experience is required
- A full spectrum leader with demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Ensure Risk Management activities (APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA) are executed according to standards and procedures
- Ensure program contract requirements are flowed down internally and to suppliers, ensures compliance with contract program, quality, organizational, and industry alert requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of related experience (preferably in Aerospace or equivalent manufacturing industry)
- Review and approve design documentation (Qualification Reports, Drawings, ATPs, BOMs, etc.)
- Ability to review and approve production documentation (assembly instructions, MOs and rework instructions)
- Knowledge of:
- Automated Manufacturing Systems (AMS)
- RCAA tools like 8D, 5-Why Analysis, Casual Tree Analysis, and data analysis
- Six Sigma, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC (within APQP / PPAP) would be an advantage
- AS9100 as well as regulatory authority approval and certification requirements
- Excellent communication and PowerPoint presentation skills
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages – Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
- Working familiarity of Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Lean and six sigma certification
- Competent in Root Cause Corrective Action and ability to perform conformity checks.
- Strong ability to read drawings, procedures, First Article Inspections (FAI) and understand contracts.
- Must be willing to travel
- Additional knowledge of Statistical Process and Control (SPC), 6 Sigma and Geometrical Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T)
- Technical or Engineering Degree
