Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Exploration Coordinator, you will be part of the Ontario Regional Exploration Team and have a vital role in advancing exploration across all Ontario Regional Exploration properties. You will ensure that all goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental responsibilities.
- Log drill core to company standards, accurately recording lithology, structure, alteration, mineralization, and geotechnical data under the guidance of project geologists;
- Handle, organize, and maintain drill core, including core reception, orientation checks, box labelling, photography, and orderly storage;
- Support core sampling workflows by assisting with sample interval marking, tagging, verification, and proper sample handling, following established protocols;
- Enter and maintain accurate, timely geological and sampling data in corporate databases and associated digital records;
- Contribute to data QA/QC by checking logs for completeness, verifying measurements, and flagging inconsistencies for review;
- Communicate and work effectively with geologists, technicians, and contractors to support consistent standards and efficient operations;
- Maintain safe work practices and comply with Agnico Eagle’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Cultural policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering, with eligibility for a Canadian professional association;
- Core logging or exploration experience considered an asset;
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental best-practices;
- Ability to regularly lift up to ~50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with core logging software an asset;
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Effective written and verbal communication and ability to work well in a team;
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to work at remote exploration sites.
- Schedule: 8 days of work, followed by 6 days for transportation and rest;
- Travel allowance is provided;
- Based in Dobie, near Kirkland Lake, Ontario
