General Summary: Engages alumnae, parents, and friends of the college to deepen engagement, steward giving and build trusting donor relationships the Agnes Scott College's strategic funding priorities. Provides consistent communication and donor engagement plans with prospects and donors to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward them for leadership level gifts ($25K ), planned gifts, and leadership annual fund gifts ($2,500 ). Works closely with development staff across all sub-units to ensure coordination of prospect and donor engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Participates in the design and implementation of the leadership giving program in conjunction with the director of leadership giving within the guidelines of federal, state, and local laws and college and division policies and procedures. Reports to the director of leadership giving or other designated person and works with colleagues, donors, volunteers, alumnae, and college personnel. This position requires a minimum of two days per week in-person and as needed to support events, key peak periods or other times as needed by college leadership.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Manages trusting donor relationships with a portfolio of donors and prospects.
  2. Help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with Agnes Scott College.
  3. Collaborates with colleagues within the unit, development office, and across campus, with Trustees, Alumnae volunteers and others in the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned prospects and donors.
  4. Makes informed and strategic face-to-face solicitations, and assist the board and other staff with prospect solicitation (e.g. provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications)
  5. Solicits leadership-level ($25,000 ) gifts through direct, personal solicitation to contribute to the leadership giving program's goals as defined by division leadership and annual development plan including attaining metrics set annually with Director and Development leadership.
  6. Assists the Fund for Agnes Scott unit in soliciting and stewarding leadership annual gifts ($2,500 ) among assigned prospects and donors, and among reunion challenge prospects.
  7. Creates and implements donor engagement process plans to ensure consistent tracking, monitoring, and reporting of engagement and fundraising pipeline in order to secure resources in support of the College's priorities.
  8. Coordinates with the director of donor relations and volunteer engagement on appropriate and timely stewardship of assigned donors' gifts.
  9. Works with the director in positioning the leadership giving program for the college's campaign priorities whether comprehensive, capital or annual.
  10. Supports presidential, vice presidential travel and solicitation and support for fundraising/campaign events including creating presidential briefings, strategy development, visit packets, and proposals as necessary.
  11. Assists the director of leadership giving in developing and working with volunteer leaders in preparation for donor meetings or strategy development including: creating reports, memoranda, donor profiles, proposals and solicitation strategy.
  12. Closely collaborates with research and prospect management team to ensure accurate and timely database record management as well and discuss outcomes related to advancing new prospects, or opportunities as a result of individual contacts.
  13. Participates in community events in Atlanta to represent the Agnes Scott brand and development team in advancing community presence.
  14. Conducts ethical fundraising practices by respecting the Donor Bill of Rights.
  15. Demonstrates customer service-oriented behavior, civility, and professionalism.

Other:

  1. Assist with development, advancement, and Agnes Scott community events as needed.
  2. Participate in advancing learning and best practice advancement strategies by continuously learning through webinars, conferences and offered trainings.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: BA/BS in related occupational field of study.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years, preferably in a non-profit and fundraising environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Considerable knowledge of fundraising techniques and procedures, and Agnes Scott College history, goals and policies.
  • Strong knowledge of the Metro Atlanta community and the role of philanthropy as part of the region's culture.
  • Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office applications, and Google Suite web applications; database management helpful, particularly Raiser's Edge.
  • Familiarity with comprehensive campaigns, annual fundraising and/or gift planning giving methods.
  • Proven success and ability in working with a variety of people and personalities, engaging diplomatically in challenging conversations, managing diverse tasks simultaneously, organizing, strategizing, and decisive decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking and occasional moving of light objects. Work is performed in an office or at off-campus social/business settings.
