What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ag Equipment Operator position at Agland CO-OP?
Performs duties like: This job involves driving semi-trucks to local farms to spray chemicals and spread Urea, Mesz and AMS dry fertilizer on crops. Calculate blends, batch the blends, then dump the blends into the trucks, deliver chemicals, haul water, harvesting, haul dry fertilizer to the farmers and also to the field operators. Operate field equipment such as self-propelled sprayers, and/or haul dry fertilizer from dry plants to spreaders. Lubricate, service (check fluids) and perform incidental repairs to farm machinery. General equipment maintenance. Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solution into machinery. Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus, weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers or self-propelled sprayers. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Maintain farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers or shovels. Haul water, chemicals or dry fertilizer to farms. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Minimum of 3 months experience required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. No minimum education is required.
