The impact you will make:
Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Director of HCP Marketing to join our growing commercial team. We’re looking for someone who is creative and cares about this important work, and who is motivated to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The Director will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing the HCP marketing initiatives for Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency. In this role, you will contribute to achieving launch goals for PK Deficiency, partner closely with other marketers and cross-functional partners on marketing tactics such as advertising, CRM, , digital marketing, media advisory boards and KOL management. Key cross-functional partners include the sales teams, patient advocacy, patient services, medical affairs, market research, market access, legal, regulatory, and IT.
Ideal candidate is someone with in line marketing experience, sales experience, rare blood disorder or hematology experience and an entrepreneurial spirit looking for an opportunity to lead the marketing initiatives for this rare hemolytic anemia. Prior patient Marketing experience would be an asset. The Director of Marketing will report to the Head of US Marketing at Agios.
This role can be either remote in the US or Hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Work location is based on employee's sole preference.
What You Will Do:
- Lead execution of the US HCP strategy for PK Deficiency and collaborate in the development and implementation of the strategy and operational plans with cross-functional partners (e.g. Field Marketing, Commercial Analytics, Market Access, Medical, Sales, Training, Regulatory, Corporate Affairs)
- Implement the brand strategy and plans and executes promotions and marketing materials which support our sales representatives with HCP interactions.
- Direct the development of strategic marketing programs and HCP digital and non-digital brand tactics, complete metrics for program success, and evaluate performance against metrics. Manage within the established US PK Deficiency marketing budget.
- Execute the strategy, development, and execution of promotional speakers’ bureau as well as other peer to peer educational programs and tactics directed at healthcare professionals (content, deck development, speaker identification, field support in speaker selection/pre-meeting objectives)
- Engage with the Global marketing team to ensure alignment, influence, and share findings across markets.
- Work with teams to gather market insights, monitor competitive landscape, and provide input into forecasting.
- Work with internal and external partners to define success metrics and consider performance of marketing programs on an ongoing basis, ensure plans are optimized as needed to improve impact, and develop recommendations for future plans based on resulting measures
- Lead the annual operational planning process by shaping the tactical plan and budget required to achieve the brand’s stated objectives.
- Cultivate relationships with and proactively engage collaboration partners in the development and execution of activities.
What you bring:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, or related field
- A minimum of 7 years of work experience in marketing or related functions
- Rare Disease or hematology marketing experience required.
- Demonstrated strong strategic thinking and an ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of people and functions.
- Effective vendor management and ability to seamlessly execute on strategy.
- Ability to effectively plan and manage both at the strategic and tactical levels, including demonstrated project management skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to travel for meetings, market research, and conferences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
- HCP and patient marketing experience preferred.
- Recent product launch experience preferred.
