Credentialing Specialist
Job Description:
This position performs the Caregiver File Maintenance & Compliance functions of Aging With Comfort. Responsibilities include file review and organization of documentation related to employment and compliance with PA Homecare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete, organized, and audit‑ready caregiver files in accordance with PA Department of Health Home Care Agency regulations.
- Ensure all required credentials are obtained, verified, and kept up to date, including:
- State background checks
- Child abuse clearances (if applicable)
- TB screening and annual renewals
- Annual training requirements
- Competency assessments
- Track expiration dates and proactively follow up with caregivers to prevent lapses in compliance.
- Update electronic systems and physical files promptly to reflect new or renewed credentials.
New Hire Onboarding Review
- Review all new hire onboarding packets submitted by recruitment or HR teams to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Confirm that all PA-required documents and credentials are present before approving a caregiver for scheduling.
- Communicate promptly with onboarding staff and caregivers regarding missing or incomplete items.
- Verify that each caregiver meets competency and training requirements prior to assignment.
Regulatory & Audit Readiness
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Pennsylvania home care regulations and agency policies.
- Prepare caregiver files for internal audits, state inspections, and quality assurance reviews.
- Identify compliance gaps and escalate concerns to leadership when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement of credentialing processes and documentation standards.
Customer Service & Communication
- Provide professional, respectful, and timely support to caregivers regarding credentialing requirements and deadlines.
- Communicate clearly with internal teams (HR, Scheduling, Care Coordination) to ensure alignment and prevent service interruptions.
- Demonstrate patience and problem‑solving skills when assisting caregivers who may need additional guidance.
- Represent Aging with Comfort with a positive, service‑oriented attitude.
Reliability & Professionalism
- Consistently meet deadlines for credential renewals and onboarding reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Demonstrate strong follow‑through, accountability, and the ability to work independently.
- Uphold the agency’s mission, values, and commitment to high‑quality home care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in home care, healthcare administration, credentialing, or compliance preferred.
- Knowledge of PA Home Care Agency regulations or willingness to learn quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with electronic record systems and Microsoft Office.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
