Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Specialist to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including home, community, and long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and observe patients for changes in health status or behavior, documenting findings accurately
  • Administer medications following prescribed care plans and HIPAA regulations
  • Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual preferences
  • Operate medical equipment including Hoyer lifts, vital signs monitors, and other assistive devices
  • Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies
  • Implement individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through proper cleaning and infection control procedures
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance residents' quality of life
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, families, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care

Experience
Candidates should possess relevant experience such as:

  • Home & community care experience or working within assisted living or nursing home settings
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
  • Prior work in dementia or memory care environments such as Alzheimer's or hospice care
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient privacy standards
  • Experience with long-term care, home health services, or social work is highly valued

Additional skills include CPR/First Aid certification, ability to perform heavy lifting safely (including resident transfers using Hoyer lifts), and working knowledge of patient safety protocols. A caring attitude combined with strong communication skills is essential for success in this role.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
