Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 150-200 employees including field crews, project managers, and office staff
- Manage certified payroll reporting for prevailing wage projects
- Calculate and process union wages, benefits, and fringe contributions for multiple trades
- Handle multi-state payroll tax filings and compliance
- Maintain accurate records for workers' compensation and liability insurance audits
- Process and track PTO, sick leave, and other time-off accruals
- Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
- Generate cost reports for job costing and project analysis
- Serve as primary contact for employee payroll inquiries
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
What You'll Bring
Required:
- 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably in construction or similar industry
- Strong knowledge of prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements
- Experience with union payroll and multi-trade calculations
- Proficiency in payroll software (LCP Tracker, ADP, Viewpoint Vista).
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis
- Understanding of federal and California payroll laws
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven workload
Highly Valued:
- Construction industry payroll experience
- Knowledge of Foundation, Viewpoint Vista, or construction-specific software
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation
- Bilingual English/Spanish capabilities
- Experience with job costing and labor distribution
