The Finishing Manager works closely with shift supervisors to successfully perform operations within the Finishing and Plating departments. Their primary responsibilities include assigning and directing work, interviewing and hiring candidates for open positions, training, completing performance appraisals, ensuring safety practices are followed, resolving conflicts, and continuously improving departmental processes and procedures.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations for the Finishing, Plating, and Laboratory departments, including mentoring lab technicians and ensuring adherence to protocols and best practices.Develop, train, and support team members to improve performance, safety, compliance, and productivity, while implementing new procedures and resolving operational issues.Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely product completion, plan work area layouts, and promote teamwork and open communication.Manage employee schedules, time and attendance, time-off requests, and conduct annual performance reviews with personnel and pay recommendations.Maintain a strong safety culture, ensure finishing equipment is operational in coordination with maintenance, and perform additional assignments as directed by management.QualificationsAbility to read, write, speak and understand English fluently; Spanish fluency is a strong plus.Takes full ownership of assigned responsibilities.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.Works with urgency and efficiency to complete tasks.Manages time well, handles multiple priorities, and meets deadlines.Adapts quickly to problems and can independently identify and implement solutions.Shows effective leadership and sound judgment in managing people.Committed to developing a strong team and delegating effectively.Detail-oriented, accurate, dependable, and persistent.Able to evaluate situations and people objectively and consistently.Capable of using standard tools.Able to follow instructions accurately.Works effectively with little or no supervision.Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.Able to operate standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, and copiers.Follows all safety rules and ensures team members properly use required PPE.
