Labeling Technician (Temporary)

As a Labeling Technician, you will play a key role supporting the Fresno VA Medical Center’s inventory management system by ensuring hospital equipment is accurately labeled for tracking. This position is essential to maintaining the operational efficiency, safety, and compliance across the facility.

This is a temporary role offering hands-on experience in inventory control, technical labeling processes and RFID technology. Training will be provided for all specific tasks and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Label Application: Print and apply labels to a wide range of hospital equipment, ensuring the labels are secure, legible, and properly positioned.
• Equipment Handling: Safely handle various types of medical equipment following all hospital safety protocols.
• Printer Setup and Maintenance: Perform basic setup, calibration, and maintenance of Zebra label printers.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of labeled equipment, using Windows-based systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Staff Training: Train designated VA staff on proper label application procedures, and basic printer operations to ensure continuity and sustainability of labeling practices.

Required Skills and Education:

• US Citizenship (REQUIRED)
• Ability to be granted security clearance by the Federal Government.
• Minimum High school diploma (2-year associate degree preferred)
• Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft’s Word and Excel for record keeping and printer setup.
• Attention to Detail: Must have the ability to focus on detailed tasks for extended periods and ensure labeling accuracy.
• Professionalism: Must maintain an appropriate demeanor and appearance for a hospital environment, respecting the sensitivity of patients and staff.
• Eager to learn and committed to contributing to a vital healthcare service.

• This role involves working in a hospital environment and may require some lifting of equipment.
• Candidate must be comfortable standing for extended periods and handling various types of equipment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and means of transportation.
• Moderate Risk Public Trust Clearance is required for this position.
• This is a temporary position with the potential for extension or full-time employment based on performance and business needs.
