Description: Agile5 Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Systems Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, management, and support of our critical IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. This role requires a strong understanding of various operating systems, networking principles, cloud technologies, and automation practices, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Systems Engineer Job Duties:
Participate in the design and implementation of new IT systems and infrastructure components, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), server hardware, and system software.
Assist in the management and monitoring of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Implement and maintain security best practices, monitor systems for vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents.
Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and reliability.
Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline system administration tasks and improve efficiency (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Provide technical support for system-related issues, diagnose problems, and implement timely and effective solutions.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Participate in capacity planning activities to ensure the infrastructure can support future growth and demands.
Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Work closely with other IT teams, including network engineers, security engineers, and application developers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.
Interact with technology vendors for procurement, support, and issue resolution.
Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our systems and processes.
Security Clearance Requirements: Active Secret (S) required. Candidates must already possess this clearance level upon applying.
Experience Requirements: 10 years of recent relevant experience OR five years of which in Computer Science AND five years in a related field or 10 years in an engineering related discipline.
Education Requirements: Minimum bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in information security, cybersecurity, computer engineering, computer science, or closely related technical field; or the equivalent combination of experience and training related to task scope and objectives.
Desired Skills / Qualifications: We're seeking candidates with deep expertise in operating systems (Windows/Linux), networking, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). Proficiency in scripting and automation, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive approach to system reliability and security are highly desired. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, along with relevant certifications, are a significant advantage.
Location: Remote, local to Clarksburg, WV preferred
Status: Full time
Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday
Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations of time. Also, must be able to continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
