Data Analyst

Location/Remote: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA, 30309 (3 days per week onsite).

Employment Type: 18-month Contract (W-2).

Compensation: Up to $51/hour (commensurate with experience)

This contract Data Analyst role delivers interactive, decision-ready dashboards that help leaders act on reliable data. Success in this role means turning wireframes and business questions into polished Looker experiences, validating metrics end-to-end, and iterating quickly based on stakeholder feedback. You will combine strong SQL-driven analysis with practical front-end skills to ensure dashboards are accurate, usable, and maintainable.

Responsibilities:

• Build interactive dashboards and reports in Looker (Core and Studio) using LookML to meet defined reporting and self-service analytics needs.
• Translate dashboard wireframes, requirements, and business questions into working visualizations, then refine them through structured stakeholder feedback cycles.
• Design clear metric definitions, filter behaviors, drill paths, and documentation to ensure consistent interpretation and long-term maintainability.
• Validate dashboard accuracy by reconciling sources to modeled data and dashboard outputs, investigating anomalies, and driving fixes to closure.
• Create wireframes and mockups that communicate layout, KPIs, interactions, and user flows to align expectations before build.
• Develop and embed visualization components using HTML for internal pages or portals, ensuring consistent presentation and accessibility.
• Enhance dashboard interactivity and embedded experiences with JavaScript where needed to improve usability and integration.
• Test, release, and support production visualization solutions, including regression checks and post-deployment monitoring of key metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement by standardizing dashboard patterns, improving documentation and testing approaches, and reducing rework through reusable components.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience building interactive dashboards using Looker (Core and Studio) and LookML.
• Strong SQL skills, including writing and tuning queries to support dashboards, data validation, and self-service analysis.
• Strong HTML skills for building, embedding, and presenting visualizations in internal environments.
• Experience translating wireframes and requirements into working dashboards and iterating through stakeholder feedback cycles.
• Ability to design, document, test, and support production visualization solutions with clear definitions and reliable outputs.
• Experience assessing data quality and validating accuracy through source-to-dashboard reconciliation and anomaly investigation.
• Experience creating dashboard wireframes/mockups that communicate layout, metrics, filters, and interactions.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript for enhancing visualization behavior or integrating analytics components.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in analytics delivery, maintainability, and usability.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with BigQuery for querying, modeling, or performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience extracting and transforming data using SQL, R, or Python to create curated datasets or data marts that drive reporting.
• Strong storytelling and visualization design skills, including selecting appropriate chart types and structuring dashboards for clarity and actionability.
• Experience building presentation-ready visualizations using tools such as Spotfire, BI platforms, Salesforce reporting, and/or open-source visualization libraries.
