Our client in the heavy industrial industry is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team! This is a leadership opportunity to manage the daily operations of financial systems and programs for a major site.
Location: 100% On-site in Safford, AZ (Relocation assistance available)
Pay: $110,000 – $150,000 per year (DOE – Depending on Experience) plus a 15% to 30% annual bonus.
Here is what you will be doing:
- Plan, organize, and control the daily operation of accounting and finance systems for the assigned site.
- Direct all financial functions including tax activities, internal auditing, budgeting, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Prepare forecasts, profit and loss statements, and provide historical data for strategic planning.
- Compile the annual budget and provide analysis to various departments for cost reduction and variance tracking.
- Develop and implement short and long-term goals and objectives for the accounting department.
- Ensure all accounting practices and controls comply with GAAP, company policy, and federal or state regulations.
- Collaborate with the site management team on tactical and strategic planning.
- Evaluate and contract with vendors for financial services and oversee the selection of audit firms.
- Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations for the accounting staff.
- Represent the site on company-sponsored steering teams and perform other duties as required.
Here is what our ideal candidate has:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 7 years of broad-based accounting experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven management or leadership experience within an accounting function.
- Previous experience as an accountant in an industrial environment is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and the ability to ensure full compliance across all financial decisions.
- Strong financial analysis skills, specifically in forecasting, P&L preparation, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Office, and relational databases.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a site management team.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and a strong commitment to workplace safety and hazard recognition.
Salary : $110,000 - $150,000
