Responsibilities
- Functions in the scrub role by preparing, organizing, and anticipating needed instruments, supplies, and equipment for safe patient care and operative procedure
- Assist in the preparation of surgery rooms
- Participate in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment
- Demonstrates the proper use, cleaning, processing, and storage of instruments and equipment
- Assist in cleaning, restocking, and room turnover
- Assists in non-surgical patient intervention under the direct supervision of a physician or RN
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to assist with additional unit needs as necessary
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Certified Surgical Technologist
- Full working knowledge of OR equipment & instrument sterilization
- Solid knowledge & ability to operate sterilization machinery & ancillary equipment
- Solid knowledge of infection control & sterilization techniques
- Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) required
- Knowledge of Orthopedic Instruments preferred
