We are looking for a Manufacturing Production Assistant. This position supports the manufacturing process by performing hands-on production tasks, monitoring equipment, and providing administrative assistance to the production team. This role is essential for maintaining efficient workflows, adhering to safety standards, and meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation and Administration: Handle production-related paperwork, enter and maintain production data, and prepare reports or documents using computer software (e.g., MS Office, ERP systems). Ideal candidate would have experience in using SysPro manufacturing software.
- Material and Inventory Management: Assist in the Tracking and managing of inventory levels. Help pick and prepare raw materials for production runs, as well as organize stock.
- Collaboration: Communicate and coordinate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to resolve production issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Equipment Handling: Operate machinery such as forklifts or small cranes to move materials and equipment within the facility.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is desired.
- Experience: Previous experience in a steel fabrication, production, or related environment is required. Knowledge of grades of steel and understanding the fabrication process is preferred. Previous use of nesting software (ProNest) is desired, but we can train the right person.
- Physical Stamina: Must be physically fit and able to perform manual labor, stand for long periods, and lift heavy objects (typically up to 35lbs).
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is crucial for accurate data entry and reporting.
- Soft Skills:

- Excellent computer skills using spreadsheet, emails and production related software.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production facility. The majority of the effort will be spent on the shop floor working with others collecting and distributing data.
