Summary: The role of this position is to grow the business by estimating bidding projects and all inbound inquiries from the current and future customer base. The Estimator will accept from Sales Team all inbound estimates, requests for estimates, and be responsible for working up detailed scope review sheets and pricing as well as present the information to internal sales team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Accepts all estimates requests from Sales Team or Estimating Director for bidding responsibilities. There is no cold calling. All calls are followed-up by Sales Team.
- Responsible for working up all costs on inbound estimates.
- Established communication with Sales Team on inquiries and questions during the bidding phase.
- Establish key liaison responsibilities with manufacturing partners and product vendors as determined by the Estimating Director.
- Establish base parameters of needed information prior to estimating.
- Establish base parameters of performance around exceeding customer and prospect expectations on turn time of quotes.
- Provides project team accurate estimates, quotes, and takeoff review documents for review when project is sold and ready to execute.
- Strive to quote at a predetermined profit level TBD with Estimating Director and Sales Team.
- Assists in requests for substitutions or alternates that are submitted for product approval.
- Establish proficiency in BlueBeam Take Off Software, as well as Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office products.
- Be flexible and willing to adjust to a fast-paced schedule that can change or be interrupted with revisions or change orders to other projects.
- Participate in Internal Scope Review meetings with Design Team with details of what was estimated or required at the time the proposal was developed.
- Other duties as requested or required by supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, or related fields.
- Ability to visualize concepts in 3D.
- Able to read blueprints and understand architectural concepts.
- Excellent analytical skills, with focus and attention to detail.
- Performance oriented achiever, thorough, able to comprehend large amounts of information per project; budget minded.

Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of commercial, architectural construction or industry experience.
- Experience with Excel and/or estimating take off software. (specifically Blue Beam)
- 2 years of architectural or construction industry experience.
- Estimating experience preferred.
