Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Project Manager based in the Tampa area to drive the execution of our electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure portfolio. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) deployments, spanning from initial site mobilization to final utility commissioning. You will manage the "ground-up" construction process, ensuring that specialized electrical and civil subcontractors deliver high-performance charging hubs on time and within budget. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of electrical load requirements, utility interconnects, and the specific nuances of DC Fast Charging (DCFC) and Level 2 installations.
Primary Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Ownership: Direct all phases of EVSE construction, managing the critical path from permitting and site prep to equipment setting, wiring, and software integration.
- Estimating & Buy-Out Integration: Collaborate with the Estimating team to review "Buy-Out Books," verifying that subcontractor scopes and material lead times for switchgear and transformers align with the project’s execution strategy.
- Utility & AHJ Management: Lead the coordination with local utilities for service upgrades and transformer placements; manage the permitting process with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure zero-deficiency inspections.
- Subcontractor Direction: Manage multi-trade subcontractors (electrical, concrete, and striping), ensuring all field work-including trenching, directional boring, and pad construction- adheres to civil and electrical blueprints.
- Technical Compliance & QA/QC: Enforce strict adherence to NEC Article 625 and manufacturer-specific installation guidelines to ensure charger uptime and warranty compliance.
- Budget & Change Management: Monitor project P&L, managing RFI (Request for Information) processes and change orders to mitigate cost creep and maintain profitability.
- Milestone Reporting: Provide stakeholders with high-level reporting on construction progress, utility energization timelines, and project close-out documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Industry Expertise: 3–5 years of project management experience in electrical construction, utility infrastructure, or EVSE rollouts.
- Safety & Compliance: OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Technical Literacy: Expert-level blueprint reading (electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and civil site plans); familiarity with switchgear configurations and utility transformer requirements.
- Software Proficiency: Strong experience with project management platforms (Procore, Smartsheet, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management.
