Job Description
This role is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production that meets customer requirements and company standards. In addition to supervising production teams and workflows, this role is responsible for coordinating purchasing and inventory-related activities to support uninterrupted production. This role is responsible for managing production teams, coordinating workflows, maintaining equipment performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The Production Supervisor reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Responsibilities
Production & Operations
· Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, safety, and cost objectives.
· Plan, assign, and review work of production employees; ensure adequate staffing, training, and performance management.
· Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and throughput.
· Enforce safety, quality, and housekeeping policies and ensure compliance with company standards.
· Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to minimize downtime and resolve production issues.
· Assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing, 5S, waste reduction, and process optimization.
Purchasing & Inventory Management
· Coordinate purchasing activities for raw materials, components, supplies, and production-related services.
· Generate and review purchase requisitions and purchase orders in alignment with production schedules and inventory levels.
· Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability while minimizing excess stock and carrying costs.
· Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, quality compliance, and cost effectiveness.
· Assist in evaluating suppliers, resolving delivery or quality issues, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
· Collaborate with finance and operations leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cost control related to materials and supplies.
Reporting & Administration
· Maintain accurate production, inventory, and purchasing records within ERP/MRP systems.
· Prepare production and material usage reports; analyze trends and recommend improvements.
· Participate in workforce recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and employee development initiatives.
· Recommend process, material, and equipment improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Qualifications
· 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
· Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Working knowledge of production planning, Lean manufacturing, and process improvement methodologies.
· Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay: $65, $75,000.00 per year
