We're seeking a proven, hands-on Director of Sales to lead and transform our territory, direct and strategic sales team. This role requires tactical execution, people development, sales process discipline, and the ability to drive high performance through structure, accountability, and clear leadership.

Candidates with experience in risk-mitigation-oriented selling, technical agriculture solutions, and consultative sales models will thrive in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and manage a national team of Territory Sales Managers (TSMs), including onboarding, performance coaching, and exit decisions
  • Develop and execute individual development plans for top performers and at-risk reps
  • Foster a high-accountability, high-clarity team culture with direct communication and shared goals
  • Guide the team through change, post-acquisition dynamics, or evolving product strategies with a focus on retention and morale
  • Ensure full compliance with weekly sales activity expectations: customer calls, dealer visits, quotes, CRM/portal updates
  • Drive pipeline hygiene, quoting velocity, and follow-up consistency across all reps
  • Champion CRM discipline and ongoing improvements to increase pipeline visibility, forecast accuracy, and accountability
  • Establish team-wide sales rhythms including forecast calls, activity reviews, and coaching touchpoints
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Technical Support/Install, and Customer Service to align go-to-market strategy
  • Lead account assignments, territory planning, and dealer engagement strategies
  • Develop and manage channel partner programs beyond the dealer network (e.g., financial institutions, agronomy retailers)
  • Advocate for technical integrations and solutions that reduce operational risk and drive long-term customer value
  • Support regional and national trade shows, conference, expos, and marketing events.
  • Own quota delivery across the team, including direct and dealer-led channels
  • Deliver structured performance reviews, manage underperformance decisively, and elevate execution standards
  • Report on key sales metrics, forecast accuracy, and activity-based KPIs to senior leadership
  • Create and grow a positive culture and contribute positively to the AGI’s image.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of sales leadership experience in ag tech, industrial equipment, or adjacent industries
  • Proven ability to build, coach, and scale tactical sales teams in complex field environments
  • Deep understanding of dealer networks, partner channels, and solution-based selling in agriculture or equipment sectors
  • Demonstrated success driving CRM (Salesforce) utilization, sales process improvements, and sales accountability frameworks
  • Experience working cross-functionally to support product development, marketing execution, and customer success
  • Strong communicator — both up and down the org — with clarity, transparency, and follow-through
  • Track record of turning around underperforming teams through structure, accountability, and cultural reset
  • Operates with high integrity and professionalism, especially during times of transition or business transformation Strong mastery of consult selling skills and sales methodology
  • Uses CRM as the critical tool to track pipeline value, conversion rates, pipeline velocity, and sales engagement
  • Ambition to exceed sales goals and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to provide leadership to a team of geographically disbursed professionals
  • Ability to thrive & grow in a continuously evolving environment
  • Advanced skills with: Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce
