Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice by providing exceptional patient service and administrative support. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage the dental calendar to optimize patient flow.
- Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person with professionalism and courtesy.
- Verify insurance information and assist patients with insurance claims and billing questions.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation review and updates in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Dentrix.
- Process medical collections and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans and coordinate with dental staff for treatment planning.
- Utilize medical coding knowledge (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10) for accurate billing and coding of services rendered.
- Manage multi-line phone systems effectively while maintaining excellent phone etiquette.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems (eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth) is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, dental terminology, and insurance verification processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills; 10-key typing experience is a plus.
