BUSY PULMONOLOGY / ENDOCRINOLOGY OFFICE LOOKING FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANT
DUTIES
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and documenting symptoms accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), administering medications, taking X-rays, and assisting with minor procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Support physicians with medical documentation, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and maintaining precise medical records in electronic health records (EHR/EMR).
- Manage medical supplies inventory, and ensure the cleanliness of clinical areas.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role, preferably within Pulmonology or Endocrinology but will train the right candidate.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management.
- Certifications such as phlebotomy are a plus
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.
MONDAY-FRIDAY NO WEEKENDS AND NO HOLIDAYS
