Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs in a friendly, professional manner
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for cash handling, credit card transactions, and receipts
- Manage cashier responsibilities including balancing registers and ensuring transaction accuracy
- Provide product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits of items
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to enhance their purchase experience
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stocking, inventory counts, and product replenishment
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing questions promptly and resolving concerns efficiently
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone
- Support grocery store operations by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness in work areas
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Previous supervising or leadership experience in retail or customer service environments is a plus
- Ability to conduct engaging product demos confidently
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with diverse customer groups
