What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Director position at Agency 29?
▶ ABOUT THE COMPANY
Agency 29 is a brand-building firm specializing in food, beverage, and agriculture brands. We partner with clients ranging from global CPG companies to regional organizations and higher education institutions—helping them grow through strategy, identity, and marketing.
We’re a tight-knit, collaborative team that values working with good people, going above and beyond, being all-in, and actually enjoying the work we do. Established in 2007, Agency 29 is a New York State Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) and an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
▶ ABOUT THE POSITION
This is not a “pixel-pusher” role, and it’s not a top-heavy leadership role either. As Agency 29’s Art Director, you’ll bridge strategy and execution, concept and craft, big-picture thinking and detailed design.
You’ll help shape creative output across projects, leading design direction, contributing to brand strategy, and executing high-quality visual work. You’ll collaborate closely with our creative team and cross-functional team members, elevating both the work and the people around you.
This role is ideal for someone ready to take ownership and grow into a stronger creative leader while staying hands-on.
▶ WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Creative Development - Concept and execute brand identities, campaigns, and marketing initiatives across print, digital, and web.
- Translate Strategy into Design - Turn brand strategy into clear, compelling visual systems that work across channels.
- Own Projects End-to-End - Take work from concept through final delivery with accountability and attention to detail.
- Art Direct & Elevate Others - Provide thoughtful feedback and direction to design colleagues to ensure strong, cohesive work.
- Collaborate Across Teams - Partner with strategists, client champions, and leadership to bring ideas to life.
- Present Your Thinking - Confidently articulate and defend creative decisions internally and with clients.
- Build Systems, Not Just Assets - Create scalable, thoughtful design systems (not just one-off executions).
- Maintain a High Bar - Ensure all work meets a high standard for creativity, consistency, and craft.
