Job Summary
A Construction Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, and other machinery to move, load, and transport materials on construction sites. The operator plays a vital role in site preparation, material handling, and supporting construction crews to ensure projects are completed on time and within safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate loaders and other heavy equipment to move dirt, gravel, sand, and other materials as required by the project.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, stockpiles, and other locations on the construction site.
- Assist in site preparation by clearing debris, grading, and leveling surfaces.
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents to site supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with other equipment operators, laborers, and site personnel.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and instructions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and project activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years operating experience
- Must pass Drug Screen
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Valid AZ driver’s license AND/OR commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Certification OR History of proven experience operating loaders and other construction equipment.
- Understanding of safety procedures and regulations on construction sites.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle demanding tasks and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for performing routine equipment maintenance.
Working Conditions
Construction Loader Operators typically work outdoors on active construction sites. The role may require early morning, evening, or weekend shifts, depending on project deadlines. The position involves exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions, and requires adherence to strict safety standards.
Physical Demands
· Frequent standing, walking, and climbing in and out of equipment.
· Ability to lift and carry materials and tools as needed (up to 50 lbs).
· Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate controls and monitor surroundings.
Reporting Structure
The Construction Loader Operator reports to the Site Supervisor OR Superintendent.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
