We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design/Applications Engineer to provide advanced engineering support for wire and cable products. This role bridges technical expertise with industry demands, driving innovation in product development, customer solutions, and manufacturing optimization. You will collaborate closely with customers, sales, operations, and engineering to develop new products, solve technical challenges, and enhance product performance. WHAT we need you to do.
- Serve as a technical expert on wire and cable applications, supporting customers and sales teams.
- Analyze customer specifications, recommend optimal products, and deliver technical presentations.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for product designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Lead manufacturing trials, ensuring successful product launches.
- Manage new product development from concept through pilot phase, coordinating with engineering teams.
- Oversee regulatory compliance, product testing, and validation against industry standards.
- Support ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) initiatives related to wire and cable products.
- Collaborate with marketing on technical documentation, data sheets, and product messaging.
- Drive customer satisfaction through technical innovation and superior engineering support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT you need to possess.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or product development, ideally in wire and cable.
- Strong understanding of wire and cable applications, materials, and UL safety standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and collaborate across teams.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites, industry events, and trade shows as needed.
