Job Title: Estimator
Location: Dallas, TX
Reports To: VP of Operations
Company Overview: Agave ATS is a National multi-family general contractor specializing in renovation, restoration, and capital improvement projects across multiple markets. We partner with property owners and investment groups to deliver high-quality renovation solutions that increase asset value and tenant satisfaction. Our team is growing, and we are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Estimator to support our continued expansion.
Position Summary: The estimator is a key contributor to the success of Agave ATS by producing accurate and competitive proposals and estimates. Estimators work closely with sales, project management, and leadership to support profitable growth and ensure timely proposal generation. The estimator should be able to develop precise, competitive bids for construction projects while collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure all project specifications and requirements are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
● Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop detailed estimates
● Develop quantity takeoffs and material lists
● Gather site-specific data through field visits; meet with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes
● Manage RFPs, cost tracking, and bidding schedules to prepare and submit bids
● Conduct research on labor, material, and production time for accurate cost forecasting
● Track project costs and budgets
● Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, subcontractors, and clients
● Understands and is proficient in Xactimate and the insurance process within the
restoration space
● Understands and is proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
● Understands and is proficient in subcontractor and vendor buyout
● Understands and is proficient with keeping in touch with market costs of labor,
materials, etc. throughout Texas and the Southeast.
● Walk, photograph and scope all types of restoration and renovation projects
● Inspect building and/or job sites to determine scope needed
● Determines baseline for labor and material requirements
● Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and regulations
Competencies:
● Strong understanding of construction materials and methods
● Proficient in quantity takeoff software
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
● Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Demands:
● Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands/fingers for typing, mouse use, and writing.
● Visual Focus: Extended screen time.
● Some Physical Activity: The role often involves fieldwork including site visits, climbing stairs, lifting materials, and adapting to varied weather conditions.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in construction science, engineering, or a related field preferred
● Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in construction estimating
