Job Overview: Plump’s Architecture group is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Architectural Jr Designer to join our team. As a Jr Designer, you will support project execution by assisting with design coordination and construction document production under the guidance of senior architectural staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support: Assist the project manager and design team with day-to-day architectural tasks on assigned segments of a project, under the direction of senior staff.
- Construction Documents: Assist in producing construction drawings, details, and standard specifications for assigned portions of a project, under the supervision of a Job Captain or Project Architect.
- Quality Control: Support quality control checks on assigned drawings and documentation, flagging discrepancies for review by senior team members.
- Professional Growth: Receive guidance and mentorship from Job Captains and senior designers; actively develop technical skills in documentation, detailing, and design software.
- Client & Consultant Support: Support client and consultant coordination as directed by the project lead, including attending meetings and helping compile requested information.
- Code Research: Research and compile applicable building codes and regulations to support senior staff in verifying design and documentation compliance.
- Project Documentation: Help maintain project files and schedules, and assist the project team in preparing progress updates.
- Design Awareness: Stay informed about architectural trends, materials, and technologies, and bring ideas forward in team discussions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution preferred.
- Min requirement of Technical certificate or associate degree in architectural production/drafting.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in architectural design and project coordination; 5 years preferred.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (AutoCAD and Revit required, Adobe CS, Bluebeam)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and green building standards is advantageous.
