Job Summary
Agassiz Precision Ag is looking for a Precision Ag Technician to join our team in Hillsboro, ND. This position will work directly with growers to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair precision agriculture equipment, with a strong focus on agricultural technology and upgrades.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with technology, and enjoys solving problems. The hands-on position combines shop work, field service, and customer support to help our growers get the most out of their equipment.
Duties
- Install and upgrade Precision Planting systems and components on customer planters and equipment
- Perform planter inspections, maintenance, repairs, and seasonal preparation
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and precision technology issues
- Assist with planter setup, calibration, and system configuration
- Troubleshoot monitors, sensors, wiring, control systems, and other precision ag components
- Perform both in-shop and field service as needed
- Provide technical support and customer service to growers before, during, and after planting season
- Assist customers in understanding the operation and proper use of installed systems
- Diagnose issues quickly during planting season to help minimize customer downtime
- Document completed work, repairs, installations, and customer service needs
- Work closely with the Precision Ag sales and service team to provide a high level of customer support
- Stay current on new Precision Planting products, technology, updates, and service procedures
- Maintain an organized, safe, and professional work environment
Ideal Candidate Qualifications / Experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with agricultural equipment, planters, precision agriculture technology, or related equipment preferred
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
- Comfortable using computers, diagnostic software, and technology
- Ability to learn new equipment and technology
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to perform field service and travel to customer farms within our service area
- Valid driver's license
- Previous experience with Precision Planting equipment is a plus, but training can be provided
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position based in Hillsboro, ND
- Combination of shop, field, and customer location work
- Seasonal workload with additional hours and occasional weekends during planting season
- Hands-on, fast-paced work environment
- Regular interactions with growers and agricultural equipment

Pay: From $22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 70.0 per week
