Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in corporate accounting, financial analysis, and data management. This role involves managing project-specific financial data, maintaining project records, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring client files are accurate. The Project Accountant will play a critical role in supporting project budgets, reporting, and maintaining the integrity of financial statements across various projects and departments.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain project files.
- Develop and maintain filing system for current projects, recent past projects; archival of noncurrent records.
- Take meeting notes, coordinate meeting times and travel, disseminate project updates.
- Technical writing: review and edit letters, technical memoranda, proposals, reports and marketing materials.
- Assist in budget tracking and project billing.
- Project expense tracking.
- Track billable hours.
- Assist with A/R and A/P
- Assist Business Manager / Controller, as needed.
- Complete time sheets, expense reports, and forms as requested
- Additional tasks to be determined.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2 to 4 years experience related to accounting or project management
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms. Deltek Vantagepoint a plus.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required
- Strong language skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation are a must.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
