Junior Lighting Designer
Agapeh Lighting – Los Angeles, CA
Agapeh Lighting is seeking a Junior Lighting Designer to support the design and documentation of high-end residential and hospitality lighting projects. This role is ideal for someone passionate about architectural lighting, technical detailing, and the intersection of light, architecture, and atmosphere.
The Junior Lighting Designer will assist with lighting layouts, fixture research, photometric studies, documentation, and coordination with architects, interior designers, and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing lighting layouts and lighting control layouts
- Perform photometric calculations and lighting studies using AGi32
- Prepare fixture schedules and cutsheet packages
- Conduct fixture research and specification
- Review architectural drawings and markups using Bluebeam Revu
- Experience preparing presentation decks and client packages
- Coordinate lighting information with architects, interior designers, and consultants
- Organize project documentation and maintain project files
- Assist with mockups and design coordination
Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design, or related field
- 0–3 years of professional experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to perform photometric calculations using AGi32
- Experience using Bluebeam Revu for drawing review and markups
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
- Experience with SketchUp or Rhino is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Passion for lighting, architecture, and design
Work Setup
This is a remote position. Applicants must have access to a reliable computer capable of running the required design software and must have their own licensed versions of the necessary software tools.
Bonus Skills
- Knowledge of Revit / BIM workflows
- Understanding of LED technology, drivers, and dimming systems
Location
Los Angeles, CA
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Montrose, CA 91020
