Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Counselor to provide mental health and behavioral support to diverse populations in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychotherapy, and specialized counseling techniques. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual and group therapy to clients with various mental health challenges, including developmental disabilities, PTSD, addiction, grief, and behavioral issues. The Clinical Counselor will play a vital role in promoting patient well-being through evidence-based practices and compassionate care.

Duties

  • Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and medical terminology for accurate patient records.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions incorporating modalities such as CBT, DBT, Play Therapy and more.
  • Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support clients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral crises.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with patient needs and clinical best practices while maintaining HIPAA-compliant medical documentation.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, intake procedures, and medical record updates.
  • Deliver specialized counseling services for populations including children & family counseling, geriatrics, pediatrics, autism spectrum disorder support, special education needs, gender issues counseling.
  • Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to improve therapeutic approaches and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain ongoing professional development through research participation and staying current with behavioral health trends.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling psychology or related field.
  • Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, or art/dance therapy.
  • Experience working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, geriatrics, or patients with PTSD or chronic pain conditions is highly desirable.
  • Telehealth experience preferred; familiarity with HIPAA compliance is essential.
  • Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Master's degree in clinical counseling, mental health, or social work required. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through compassionate care and evidence-based practices within a supportive clinical environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,900.78 - $82,977.28 per year
